This excursion is a great alternative to the classic Blue Safari, which, unfortunately, has lost its authenticity due to the high number of tourist boats in the area, leading to the degradation of the seabed. We were thrilled to discover the hidden gem of Pungume and decided to personalize the experience in our own unique way.The snorkeling here is exceptional, and the stunning natural scenery makes it a small paradise for nature lovers seeking a more authentic experience. It has quickly become our favorite excursion. That’s why we’ve chosen to anchor a traditional wooden dhow in Kizimkazi, allowing us to offer this activity in a different and more sustainable way—previously, it was only available by speedboat.

What will your day be like?
Departure from the fishing port of Kizimkazi at 9:30 a.m.You’ll board our traditional dhow, equipped with all the comforts—cushions and comfortable mattresses—for a smooth and pleasant journey. On the way, you might have the chance to see dolphins. While dolphin sightings are possible, we emphasize that it's a matter of luck. We always respect their natural behavior, never chasing or cornering them.

Our first stop will be at a pristine sandbank, where you can swim in the crystal-clear waters.

At lunchtime, you’ll return to the boat to enjoy a freshly prepared meal. Our chef and captain will serve a delicious local menu: salad, seafood barbecue, rice, Swahili curry, samosas, and fresh tropical fruits.

After lunch, it's time for a memorable snorkeling session in some of the most beautiful underwater spots in the area.

On the way back, the route passes through scenic mangroves, and if the tide allows, we’ll make a stop to explore this unique ecosystem. To finish the day, we’ll raise the sail and enjoy the peaceful return with snacks and cold drinks on board.Return to port around 4:00 p.m.
